TRACEABILITY: The farm Santa Monica is an extension of the family business in the municipality of Cassia MG. This farm belongs to Laerce's children, Jean Vilhena Faleiros and Elvis Vilhena Faleiros.
In 2013, Mr. Laerce along with his sons took farms to innovative new heights. Jean, runs the daily farming operation. His passion has led him to cultivate new botanical varieties such as Arara. He also introduced innovative techniques for flavor development in the coffee cleaning and drying stages (natural pulping and African beds) and organic fertilization techniques that are created on the farm itself.
The region of Alta Mogiana Mineira is located in the southeast of Minas Gerais, one of the traditional regions that produces the best coffees in Brazil. This region stands out for its altitude and its stable temperature throughout the year, factors that provide a high content of natural sweetness to coffee.
Several varietals are grown in this region, such as Red and Yellow Catuaí, Mundo Novo, Bourbon and Arara.
This region has an excellent infrastructure with easy access to technology and skilled labor and produces the best coffees in the state of São Paulo due to its high altitude, favorable climate and extensive experience in the production of specialty coffees.
